For one powerful week, 1,835 of us united with a single mission: to serve the city of Richmond in Jesus’ name. An army of red shirts spread across the city, tackling 106 different projects – each one a visible demonstration of God’s love for our community.
It’s easy to talk about making a difference, but during RVA Week, we showed it. Every single project, big or small, carried a profound message: that the people on the other side of our paintbrushes, lawnmowers, and conversations are seen, deeply loved by God, and we, His Church, are here to help.
Through RVA Week, we believe a spark of hope was ignited in the lives of the 45,589 people served across Richmond.
Thank you for planning, serving, praying, and giving to make RVA Week possible. We can’t wait to see what God does next!

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
I signed up for a serve project, and I can't remember which one I signed up for? How do I find it?
If you have any questions about registration, please email localmissions@
How will I receive communication about my serve project?
You will receive an initial email from our RVA Week Team and specific communication from your serve project leader as we get closer to your serve project date.
Can I bring my children to my serve project?
Every serve project has different age restrictions, so be sure to look at the project description you’re interested in! You can search “Family Friendly” serve projects where kids can participate and you can register your entire family.
What should I wear to my project?
Your red shirt! We encourage you to wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting dirty. We also highly encourage you to wear closed-toe shoes, bring water and snacks, bring sunscreen, and a hat if you know you are serving outside.
I don't have a red serve shirt. What should I do?
You can pick up a red shirt at Heights Church on the day of your serve project!
I signed up for a project on, but something came up, and I can no longer serve during that date or time. What should I do?
If you are no longer able to serve, send an email to localmissions@
Can I bring my friend or spouse to serve with me?
Yes, but they will need to register for a serve project using the links above. Some of our projects have a cap on the number of people who can serve – so make sure they sign up to serve at the same time that you do.
Can I serve more than one project?
Yes, we have daily projects. Make sure that you do not sign up for more than one project on the same day during the same timeframe.
Do I have to be a member of the church to serve a project?
No! We welcome anyone in the community to serve with us during RVA Week regardless if you attend Heights Church.
How can I learn more about the community partner organization I'm serving with?
We invite you to visit the website of our community partners to learn more about their missions.
